Kabupaten Berau – Kasus dugaan pelecehan seksual terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus di salah satu sekolah di Kecamatan Tanjung Redeb, Kabupaten Berau, mendapat perhatian serius dari Firma Hukum HAM And Partners.
Firma hukum tersebut resmi menjadi pendamping hukum korban dan menyatakan komitmennya mengawal proses hukum hingga tuntas. Sebelumnya, Polres Berau telah mengamankan seorang oknum guru yang diduga melakukan kekerasan seksual terhadap lebih dari satu murid disabilitas.
Ketua HAM And Partners, Hamzar, menegaskan anak-anak disabilitas merupakan kelompok rentan yang harus mendapatkan perlindungan hukum maksimal.
“Kami hadir untuk memastikan para korban mendapatkan keadilan. Kasus seperti ini harus ditangani secara serius dan transparan,” ujar Hamzar, Kamis (7/5/2026).
Pihaknya juga membuka ruang pengaduan bagi korban lain atau wali murid yang memiliki informasi terkait kasus tersebut, dengan jaminan kerahasiaan identitas dan pendampingan hukum.
Sebagai bentuk komitmen, HAM And Partners membentuk tim khusus bernama TRC Sahabat PPA HAM And Partners untuk memberikan pendampingan hukum dan perlindungan bagi korban kekerasan seksual terhadap anak.
“Kami ingin memastikan tidak ada ruang bagi pelaku kekerasan terhadap anak untuk lolos dari jeratan hukum,” tegasnya.
